Cinque Terre Harvest 2025<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>
\nA documentary tells the beauty and hard work of heroic vineyards<\/h3>\n

\nThis year\u2019s grape harvest in the Cinque Terre tastes sweeter than usual. Not only because of the quality of the grapes \u2014 healthy and balanced \u2014 or the quantity, which is average, but because of the story it tells. A vertical story<\/strong>, shaped by terraced vineyards clinging to the rock, endless stairways, and rough hands that keep an ancient tradition alive.<\/p>\n

A free documentary on YouTube<\/strong>, created by Emplacing Food<\/strong>, takes us deep into these heroic vineyards of the Cinque Terre<\/strong>, between the scent of the sea and the aroma of wine. The narrator is Dario Vergassola<\/strong>, who opens the film with a line that sums it all up:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe word fatigue is the one that best represents the Cinque Terre. When you give a visitor a little glass of wine\u2026 they drink it and make a face, but they don\u2019t know that in that sip there are five thousand steps.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The 40-minute documentary follows Margherita, Valentina, Lucio, and Francesco<\/strong>, people who chose to stay, to cultivate the same slopes their grandparents once did. Here, the harvest is not just a season \u2014 it\u2019s resistance, vision, and identity<\/strong>. It\u2019s both a political act and a poetic gesture<\/strong>, a liquid cultural geography<\/strong> that connects past and future.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no rhetoric, no talk of \u201cexcellence.\u201d Only authenticity: wine as a daily ritual<\/strong>, as a form of stubborn beauty<\/strong>.
This documentary doesn\u2019t try to give answers. Instead, it leaves us with sharper questions<\/strong> \u2014 and a deep desire to protect, support, and savor<\/strong> this extraordinary landscape.<\/p>\n
