Podere Lovara Cinque Terre
A refuge between sky and sea
Podere Lovara, located at Punta Mesco, is one of the most beautiful and meaningful places in Liguria. It lies between Monterosso and Levanto, in the heart of the Cinque Terre National Park. This historic farmhouse sits on a cliff where sky and sea meet, surrounded by wild Mediterranean vegetation.
The estate covers more than 45 hectares of natural landscape overlooking the Ligurian Sea. It is part of a protected area managed by FAI – the Italian National Trust, an organization dedicated to preserving Italy’s environmental and cultural heritage.
A journey through sustainability and history
Visiting Podere Lovara Cinque Terre means stepping back in time. There is no running water, no electricity — only rain, wind, and sunlight. Everything here follows the natural rhythm of the environment.
Every stone wall and vineyard terrace tells the story of ancient Ligurian farmers, who shaped this difficult land with patience and care. It is a place that invites visitors to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with nature.
Moreover, Punta Mesco is a living symbol of environmental sustainability. It teaches the importance of listening, observing, and preserving balance between humans and the natural world.
An authentic FAI experience
During the FAI Autumn Days, Podere Lovara opens its doors to the public. Visitors can explore the site for free and discover the deep connection between landscape, culture, and rural life.
Inside the small refuge, a video narrated by Dario Vergassola brings to life a 14th-century text. That manuscript mentions for the first time the “littorae quinque terrae”, the “five lands”, famous even then for their golden and aromatic wine, born from sun-drenched slopes overlooking the sea.
Podere Lovara Punta Mesco: nature, education, and the future
Today, Podere Lovara Punta Mesco is not just a place to visit. It is a living laboratory for environmental education. The FAI project promotes reflection on resilience, climate change, and sustainable living.
Here, nature still teaches us how to observe, listen, and take care. For this reason, visiting Podere Lovara is more than a trip — it is an experience of awareness and harmony.
