Celebrating 50 years of FAI
The reopening marks FAI’s 50th anniversary. But Podere Lovara is more than a destination. It’s a place for reflection, education, and deep reconnection with nature. FAI president Marco Magnifico described its revival as a “heroic and difficult journey” — a testament to the love and effort behind preserving this land.
Living with sun, rain, and wind
There’s no electricity here. No running water. Just sun, rain, and wind. And that’s intentional. Podere Lovara is a space where you can observe climate change firsthand and explore how humans can adapt. A former agricultural project failed here due to drought — but today, the land has found a new purpose.
A story to be heard — and told
“Telling the story of a place is the first step to protecting it,” says FAI. Podere Lovara is the 14th “story” in their landscape narrative series. According to Patrizio Scarpellini, director of the Cinque Terre National Park, “maintenance here is storytelling.” Every visitor adds a new chapter.
