RISO ROSA 2026 in Cinque Terre: Female comedy, theatre and performances under the stars
RISO ROSA 2026 returns to Cinque Terre with a new edition dedicated to female comedy and contemporary theatre. From June 19 to September 4, Riomaggiore and Manarola will host six performances filled with humour, emotions and inspiring life stories. Moreover, the festival offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy cultural evenings in some of the most beautiful locations on the Ligurian coast.
Organized by RioManaVola and Pro Loco Rimazù&Manaea, the festival celebrates women’s talent in the performing arts. At the same time, it promotes the cultural identity of Cinque Terre through events open to both residents and visitors.
What is RISO ROSA 2026?
RISO ROSA 2026 is a theatre festival dedicated to female creativity. Its goal is to showcase actresses, writers and performers who can tell meaningful stories with both humour and depth.
Today, female comedy is often underrepresented in mainstream media. However, it continues to thrive in theatres, festivals and public squares. For this reason, RISO ROSA provides an important platform for emerging talents and innovative artistic voices.
The festival is directed by Sandro Tore. In addition, it is organized with the support of the Municipality of Riomaggiore and in collaboration with the Radici Association.
The meaning behind the festival
RISO ROSA was created to highlight artists who often work outside the spotlight. At the same time, it aims to promote freedom of expression and cultural dialogue.

The opening performance: « 9 Hours Under Home »
The festival opens with actress Alexandra Filotei and her acclaimed performance « 9 Hours Under Home ».
In this show, Filotei recounts her personal experience during the devastating earthquake that struck Pescara del Tronto in 2016. However, the story goes beyond tragedy. Instead, through humour and irony, she transforms a painful memory into a powerful message of resilience.
Thanks to her captivating storytelling, Alexandra Filotei turns personal hardship into a celebration of hope, courage and the love of life.
