Cinque Terre Walking Park: hikes and tours from September 24 to 30, 2026

The Cinque Terre Walking Park offers six activities from September 24 to 30, 2026. The program includes hikes, guided tours and sunset tours.

The excursions explore trails, vineyards, terraces and historic villages. In addition, some activities focus on local culture and traditions.

Program from September 24 to 30

Thursday, September 24 – Water, Earth and Stone

Manarola – Volastra – Manarola hike

  • Meeting point: Manarola railway station
  • Time: 9:00 AM
  • Duration: about 4 hours
  • Walking time: about 2 hours and 30 minutes
  • Difficulty: E
  • Distance: about 5 km
  • Elevation gain: +340 m
  • Start and finish: Manarola railway station

The “Water, Earth and Stone” hike starts in Manarola. The route reaches Volastra through old trails and terraces.

During the hike, you will see the Church of San Lorenzo and the old Piè di Campo mill. The trail also crosses terraces restored by the Stonewalls for Life project.

The route then reaches Volastra. Here, you can see the Church of Our Lady of Health.

Finally, the trail descends towards Manarola. Along the way, it crosses vineyards, olive groves and old rural paths.

Friday, September 25 – Discovering the mediterranean maquis

SVA Vernazza – Monterosso hike

  • Meeting point: Vernazza, Cinque Terre Info Point at the railway station
  • Time: 9:00 AM
  • Duration: about 3 hours
  • Walking time: about 2 hours
  • Difficulty: EE
  • Distance: about 3.7 km
  • Elevation gain: +217 m
  • Route: 592-4 (SVA2)
  • Finish: Monterosso

The hike starts in Vernazza and reaches Monterosso. The route crosses the Mediterranean maquis and several scenic areas.

The first section climbs along an old trail. The path reaches an altitude of about 150 metres.

Next, the route crosses lemon groves and terraced vineyards. Finally, it reaches Punta Corone.

From here, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Monterosso’s historic centre. The Capuchin Convent and the Church of San Francesco are also visible.

Hiking shoes are mandatory. Good physical preparation is also required.

Saturday, September 26 – From the vineyard to the cellar

Manarola – Groppo – Manarola hike

  • Duration: about 3 hours
  • Walking time: about 1 hour and 30 minutes
  • Difficulty: E
  • Distance: about 2.5 km
  • Elevation gain: +240 m
  • Route: 506 and 506V
  • Start and finish: Manarola

The “From the vineyard to the cellar” hike starts in Manarola. The route climbs towards Groppo along old mule tracks.

Along the trail, you will see vegetable gardens, olive groves and cultivated fields. Therefore, the landscape shows the strong connection between agriculture and the territory.

In Groppo, the program includes a visit to Cantina Sociale del Groppo. Here, participants can learn about grape growing and wine production.

A wine tasting is also available. However, the tasting is optional and has an additional cost.

The hike requires suitable footwear and good physical preparation.

Sunday, September 27 – Sunset tour in Corniglia

Centuries-old traditions, history and culture

  • Suitable for: everyone

The tour explores Corniglia through its history, art and local traditions.

The visit starts with the Lardarina staircase. The famous staircase has 377 steps and leads up to the village.

Next, the guide takes participants through the streets of Corniglia. The tour explores the main historical and cultural features of the village.

No hiking trail is included in the tour.

However, comfortable or sports shoes are recommended.

Monday, September 28 – Tour of Riomaggiore and Manarola

The sunset tour explores Riomaggiore and Manarola.

The guide explains the history, art and culture of the two villages.

The transfer between Riomaggiore and Manarola takes place by train. Therefore, no hiking trail is included.

The activity is suitable for everyone. Comfortable shoes and suitable clothing are recommended.

Wednesday, September 30 – Sunset tour in Corniglia

The program ends with a second tour dedicated to Corniglia.

The guide then introduces the history of the village. In addition, the tour explores the artistic and cultural heritage of Corniglia.

No hiking trail is included. Comfortable or sports shoes are recommended.

The activities of the Cinque Terre Walking Park cost €10 per person.

Guided excursions are free for visitors with a Cinque Terre Card.
